BI Norwegian Business School Scholarships Benefits

The scholarship pays for the entire cost of tuition for each semester for up to two years for applicants who live in Norway.
If they achieve academic advancement requirements, international applicants are eligible for full tuition coverage and a stipend for a maximum of two years.

Requirements for Eligibility

Candidates must have an ECTS overall GPA of at least “A” or the best possible grade in other international grading systems.

  • To be eligible, one must hold dual citizenship with the EU, EEA, or Switzerland.
  • International candidates who moved to Norway to pursue their bachelor’s degree are eligible as long as they plan to finish their degree program there (180 ECTS) in the spring of the application yea
  • The applicant must  state into a Master of Science program at either the Bergen or Oslo campus, with the exception of the BI-Luiss Joint Masters in Marketing.
  • BI Norwegian Business School will only offer one scholarship to each candidate, despite the fact that you can apply for multiple.
  • Scholarships are for certain academic program at a pre-selected university and are not transferable.
  • International candidates are preferable over domestic applicants for student loans from Lånekassen if they meet the requirements (180 ECTS bachelor’s degree from a Norwegian educational institution). Living cost stipends are not available for these applicants.
  • Furthermore, priority is given to applicants pursuing their first master’s degree, while scholarship applications from persons who have completed their master’s degrees are not given priority.
  • Only those accepted into a Master of Science program starting in the fall of 2024 will be eligible for this funding.

Academic Requirements – BI Norwegian Business School Scholarships

  • To keep the scholarship, recipients must complete 30 ECTS of courses each semester and maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of “B” on the BI ECTS scale.
  • Recipients of scholarships are required to act as “BI Ambassadors,” supporting recruitment initiatives and fostering a positive learning environment.
  • All candidates must fulfill the standards for academic advancement in order to maintain their scholarship. A list of specific requirements is in the Scholarship Agreement.
  • Students complete 30 ECTS of study every semester. A minimum cumulative GPA of “B” on the BI ECTS will be needed following each academic semester.
  • Recipients of the BI Presidential Scholarship have to volunteer to participate as “BI Ambassadors,” encouraging a positive learning environment, serving as spokespeople, and helping with recruitment. Recipients of scholarships will get information about their responsibilities during the academic year.

Selection Criteria

  • BI takes into account extracurricular activities, personal accomplishments, academic achievement, GMAT/GRE/CAT scores, and an international student body.
  • Candidates must be in the Master of Science program.
  • Scholarships is by the BI at its discretion in accordance with partner university agreements and institutional priorities.
  • The applicants are dual citizens of Switzerland, the EU, or the EEA.
  • Depending on where they reside, citizens of non-EU/EEA nations may be eligible to work in Norway.
